Meet Your Therapist

Elizabeth Frantz is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, receiving her Master’s Degree In School and Community Mental Health Counseling in 2015 from Saint Xavier University. Elizabeth received her Certification in Animal Assisted Therapy in 2015 and also holds a Certification for Nutritional and Integrative Medicine for Mental Health Practicioners. Elizabeth has a lifetime of experience providing support and education to children and adults of all ages and abilities, focusing on strengths, empowerment and connection in educational and competitive athletic settings.  Elizabeth has worked for over 15 years in Community Mental Health Agencies and private practices as a Mental Health Counselor, providing individual, group, couples and family counseling and assisting clients through providing connections and resources. Elizabeth has worked as a school-based mental health therapist, with Kindergarten through 12th grade students experiencing social, emotional and behavioral issues in a school setting. Elizabeth specializes in Equine and Animal Assisted Mental Health Therapy, combining the connection to animals and nature to improve mental, physical and emotional well-being. after working with children and adolescents with developmental disabilities, ADHD, and Autism, in educational, athletic and therapeutic horseback riding programs and has witnessed the absolute magic that happens when animals and humans connect

Elizabeth began her career in animal care, husbandry and training, completing her internship at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago as a Marine Mammal Keeper. Following her connection to animals (domesticated and wild), she spent years rescuing, rehabilitating, and advocating for the importance of proper care and enrichment for all animals (free and in captivity). Elizabeth continues to incorporate her passion for being a voice for animals and focusing on the natural human and animal connection to assist clients in improving the mind body connection, gaining insight and self awareness, while experiencing all the physiological benefits of animal interactions. She is currently contracting with The Legacy Ranch and Sarah’s Stables, to offer Equine and Animal Assisted Mental Health Therapy utilizing horses, miniature horses, ponies, cats and a variety of farm animals in a natural supportive setting. Elizabeth also utilizes a therapy rabbit, and partners with

Elizabeth has been able to combine her passion for animals and helping others of all ages to deal with a wide variety of mental, physical and emotional issues across the lifespan. She believes in the human-animal bond and strives to use animals as interventions to treat a wide variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, attachment issues, trust issues, relationship issues, mood disorders, anger, communication difficulties, generalized and social anxiety, ADHD, poor impulse control, dysfunctional relationship patterns, domestic violence and self-esteem issues.
